Reader Poll: What's Your Biggest Frustration?

frustration

As a parent it is inevitable that there will be times that you either don't like your kids, or parenting in general is a royal pain. If you never feel this way, you're lying to yourself. There are times when kids will wipe their boogers on you, throw tantrums, and launch dinner entrees across the room. This leads me to my first question...

What is your biggest frustration about being a parent?

As a parent it is inevitable that there will be times that you don't know what to do, or how to handle your kids. Your kid may start vomiting out of their nose, poop could being oozing out from everywhere, and their personality is different than yours. This leads me to my last question...

What is your biggest question about being a parent?

I would love to hear your answers in the comments. If you're new here, or you're a regular reader, but haven't commented, I'd like to hear what you think. Keep in mind, you can comment anonymously.

I can tolerate the boogers and the food thrown across the floor. It's when there's something that I need to get finished but can't even get it started.

That's what frustrates me the most..

Amen to that, it seems to take 10 times as long. Especially when tools are involved. Half the time I'm just checking to make sure my oldest hasn't run off with the screwdriver I need.

My biggest frustration is trying to control my frustration. It hard for me to not fly off the handle when the kids just aren't listening to anything I say. But I am learning that being angry doesn't solve problems, so I am working a new approaches!

It's hard to keep your cool, kids know just how to get under your skin.

When I'm trying to get something done during nap time and they wake up early.

How do people balance their time in order to stay sane!

I think they know when you're trying to be productive, and plan their sabotage accordingly.

I just love it when they ask for something to drink,But they don't want it in the cup provided!! that really annoys me.

That is one of my pet peeves also. At that point I just want to dump the drink over their head, but so far I've refrained from doing so.

my biggest frustration right now is my 12 yr old getting like my 22 yr old when he was in school. so smart, but yet, she is getting lazy. there is a difference though: he was bored, she has the tween emotions going on right now w friends and worrying about how all her friends are getting boyfriends. i tell her there's time for that later, school is important now.

another frustration?? that my girls will end up like me. i want so much more for them. i want them to finish school, go to college, and be independent women. i was sheltered and given what i wanted as a youngster, so here i am at 43 back in school and trying to get that college degree i should have had years ago had i done what i was supposed to do.

p.s. i'm already pass the boogers stage, but i still have a 10 yr old that throws fits. now that is so frustrating. lol

I applaud you for going back to school!.

Man, I dread the coming teenage years. I already say boyfriends are useless, and my oldest is only 4!

Thanks for sharing.

I feel it is the middle of the night incidents that are the most frustrating. Especially having a little one right now, the lack of sleep, frequent wakings, and difficulty returning back to a deep sleep state are what makes weekdays so hard when you have to go to work the next morning. And then on the weekends my kids get up at the crack of dawn, leaving no room for sleep catch up. Now that can be frustrating! -Jason

I agree with the having to wake up for work part. Maybe I'll just start taking naps at work. Hopefully they won't frown upon that idea.
